Actual physical edition to release… eventually
Cuphead has successfully managed satisfy its player base with its fast-paced, run-and-gun action thus far, but developer StudioMDHR has decided to once again up the ante by offering the physical edition which many fans have been have been asking for. …Sort of.
Originally reported by Windows Central, a member of the Cheap Ass Gamer Reddit community revealed today that boxed versions of Cuphead will be going on sale as a Best Buy exclusive. Unlike most physical releases, however, this one will be missing something important — a disc. Instead of containing a physical copy of the game, this “pseudo-physical” release will come with a voucher for a digital version of the game on both Xbox One and Windows 10.
While this may not be the exact physical release people have been asking for, it appears that there is still hope. StudioMDHR tweeted out earlier today that they do plan releasing a physical edition of Cuphead “in the future”. No further information on the physical release has been given at this time.
Cuphead is slated for release on Xbox One and Windows 10 on November 7 for $19.99. Will you be picking up this run-and-gun shooter for yourself? Have you already played it on Steam?
