Last Minute Nerdy Halloween Costumes That Don’t Suck

4 | Literally Anyone From a Matt Groening or Seth Macfarlane Show

Halloween Costumes

Here we have a veritable smorgasbord of options. Take your pick! The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy and American Dad have no shortage of people to dress up as. Main cast is of course easiest to recognize, and the easiest amongst those would be characters such as Fry, Leela, Homer, Bart, Haley, Steve, etc. All white and a red collar could suffice for Brian, though I don’t know how you might pull off Roger without possibly breaking a few indecent exposure laws. Peter and his friends are certainly doable, enough, and Bonnie could be fun if someone can stuff a couch pillow under a dress.

There’s also Jeff Fischer, the on-again off-again hippie boyfriend of Hayley. All you need is a bucket cap and a green throw-over short sleeve to master this look. If you want to go super lazy and still have some fun, there’s always Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy. You’ll just need a walker and a bathrobe. Preferably add pants to this one.

Halloween Costumes

With a few exceptions, this one might be the hardest to pull off, and that’s because few characters are instantly recognizable. My first recommendations would be characters from Supernatural or the DC show lineups, out of costume, of course. There’s also iZombie and Riverdale, the former of which possibly being your most iconic of the bunch thus far.

Since Sam and Dean (Supernatural) have a bit of a grungy look, anything with a supernatural twist added to the costumes might help people pinpoint just exactly what you are. Someone a bit more recognizable from that show might be Bobby, if you have an outfit that looks even remotely “trucker” esque.

Shows like Arrow may be a little harder, though with dark enough clothing, a leather coat and appropriately-colored hoodie you might be able to pull something remotely similar off. Maybe add some of the face paint or a domino mask too to give yourself that “rough” look.

Ultimately the choice is yours on how you want to go about your costumes. A lot depends on how particular you are as well. Generic routes are never bad either, of course. Mad scientists are always fun, as are political jokes and the ever present plague of meme culture. Take this list with a grain of salt, just remember that beyond all else, make sure it’ll be fun!

Happy Halloween to all you Poor Players out there!
