LawBreakers may be struggling to gain traction since its July release, but Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski’s  latest skill-based shooter isn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet. Publisher Nexon America today announced that the beleaguered competitive shooter will be receiving its biggest update yet this week.

Dubbed the All-Star Update will be available for download on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. PT.  It will introduce the new Boss Leagues, along with two new maps: the Blitzball arena Gateway, the world’s first “mobile stadium,” which floats effortlessly above the earth thanks to Hadronium’s anti-gravitational properties, and Redfalls Blood Moon, a new take on the originall Refalls map that features a new atmospheric time of day with the ominous Shattered Blood Moon looming above.

In addition to the fresh content, the All-Star Update for LawBreakers also offers a number of quality of life and customization tweaks. These include balance adjustments, multi-region queuing, a refined tutorial, Blitzball-themed character and weapon skins, and 120 new items including All-Stars themed item in the special, time-limited All-Star Stash-drops.

This update is coming at just the right time, as things have looked progressively more grim for the game in recent weeks with Steamcharts showing the game only has two dozen concurrent players as for today. Speaking to GameSpot, the game’s creator and Boss Key Productions’ head Cliff Bleszinski stressed that the team is determined to ride the game out for the long-haul saying: “it’s a marathon, not a sprint. We’re just gonna keep iterating and keep working on it. And at the end of day, I just didn’t want to make the exact same archetypes that everybody else did and I wanted to make a game that was, first and foremost, a shooter for shooter players.”

So, our dear readers, will you be checking out the LawBreakers All-Star Update? Additionally, what do you think Boss Key Studios would have to do to right the ship and make the game a success? We love to hear what you think, so be sure to sound off in the comments and let us know.
