Yakuza Kiwami Takes The Fight To North America And Europe, Gets Launch Trailer

The Dragon of Dojima is reborn for a new generation in Yakuza Kiwami, now available for the PlayStation 4

Yakuza Kiwami

Yakuza Kiwami is now available for the PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe, SEGA announced today. A complete remake of the 2005 PlayStation 2 game that started it all, Yakuza Kiwami is built from the ground up using the powerful Yakuza 0 (read our review) engine. The game sports a host of improvements and new additions to the classic formula, including nearly 30 minutes of new cutscenes to bridge the events between the game and its recently-released prequel, Yakuza 0. SEGA has also included new mini-games like Pocket Circuit car racing, MesuKing: Battle Bug Beauties, new hostesses, and more to keep players busy. Additionally, there’s more side stories, four fighting styles for Kiryu to master, and re-recorded Japanese dialogue.

To mark the occasion, SEGA has released a launch trailer. The footage offers a fresh look at what players are in for when they step into the seedy streets of Tokyo’s Kamurocho district while also showcasing some of the game’s impressively redone cinematic sequences. Be sure to check it out below:

Yakuza Kiwami is now available both digitally and a retail release for the PlayStation 4 for $29.99. In case you missed it, read our full Yakuza Kiwami review here.
