Big shock: they won’t feature Kirby!

What a surprise: HAL Laboratory, the developers behind Kirby, announced they’ll be diving into mobile games! Described as differing from their past works, the first of these new mobile apps will release this fall, and will feature a new character as opposed to the beloved Kirby.

Little else was shared, but these mobile titles will be released under the “HAL Egg” brand, the logo of which you can see below.

While closely affiliated with Nintendo, as HAL Laboratory is a second-party developer, this doesn’t necessarily mean these new games will be published under Nintendo’s banner. To give another similar example, Pokémon developer Game Freak worked with Sega to produce Tembo the Badass Elepehant.

Regardless, we’ll certainly share more about HAL’s mobile games when more information arrives!
