Punishing Neo Geo Platformer Magician Lord Lands On PS4, Xbox One, and Switch Today

Magician Lord puts players’ drywall in peril as it works its sadistic magic on consoles today
Magician Lord

The Neo Geo is home to plenty of games designed to test your skills. After all, as a console primarily built around the arcade platform, quarter-munching gameplay was certainly to be expected. But out of all of the games on the Neo that tested players’ mettle, few games were as grueling as Magician Lord. Now, 27 years after its original release on the Neo Geo, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch owners can see if they have what it takes to beat this punishing fantasy platformer from ADK thanks to the folks at HAMSTER.

Originally released in 1990, Magician Lord plops players under the pointy cap of the magician Eltaon on a quest to save the world from the nefarious Gal-Agiese, who has been resurrected.

Magician Lord is now available on the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch from their digital marketplaces. Like the rest of HAMSTER’s ACA Neo Geo lineup of games, it’s priced at $7.99.

So, will you be downloading this classic today? If so, I recommend stocking up on drywall patches ahead of time. Trust me, you’re gonna thank me later. Let us know in the comments section!

Already have it on Vita, but it’s a good game. Definitely hard by the third level. I love the colors and music in it, and some of those quotes are classics 🙂 “Again changes to hell”
It has some wicked stage art and monsters. Kind of reminds me of Mystic Defender.
