Prefundia page now available to scope out backer rewards for upcoming Gurumin Kickstarter campaign
Gurumin fans have been eagerly hoping for a physical release of developer Nihon Falcom’s action-RPG Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure. Thankfully, it seems like their wish could soon be realized. Taking the demands of the series’ community to heart, publisher Mastiff has announced they will be turning to Kickstarter to crowdfund the release of a physical edition version of Gurumin for both the PC and 3DS.
You can find the full statement from Mastiff PR manager David Bruno below:
“We here at Mastiff have been asked countless times via social media, over email, and in person if a physical edition of Gurumin on PC and 3DS will ever happen. The answer has always been ‘yes, it is possible,’ but waffled due to the risks and costs, so we have decided to turn to the crowdfunding stage.
Help us turn that pusillanimous ‘maybe’ into ‘damn straight, a Gurumin physical edition is on the way!”
Mastiff has launched a Prefundia page ahead of the game’s upcoming Kickstarter campaign to raise interest in the project. You can swing by the page yourself to get a look at some of the planned backer rewards.
On the Prefundia page, Mastiff’s president detailed the difficulties in bringing the project to light saying. “The physical distribution market has shifted over the last several years, making it increasingly difficult for publishers of Mastiff’s size to release physical copies of games into retail, but with this campaign and your support we look to release a physical copy of Gurumin that you’ll be proud to display in your gaming collection.”
