Mega Man Movie Reportedly In Production

Question is: will it be any good?

Yes, a Mega Man movie is confirmed to be in development. Hollywood Reporter broke the news earlier today that Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who were behind the 2010 Catfish documentary, are wrapping up negotiations to write and direct the movie.

Little else is known about the adaption other than that 20th Century Fox had apparently been attempting to nab movie rights for Capcom’s Blue Bomber and finally acquired a deal early this year. The movie will be produced under Chernin Entertainment (War for the Planet of the Apes), with Heroes star Masi Oka collaborating on the project.

Can a Mega Man movie truly work? The iffy history of game movie adaptions probably points to “no,” but regardless, we’ll keep you updated on any future developments.
