Thought Crash Bandicoot was a washed-up has-been? Not according to UK audiences: the just-released Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy debuted at #1 in the UK Sales Chart, beating out fellow debut Micro Machines: World Series and the ever-popular Grand Theft Auto V, which ranked #1 the previous week. And yes, in case you’re wondering, this means Crash has had a higher debut than any Super Mario game in the UK, just as how Knack infamously beat Super Mario 3D World in their same-week debut in that territory. Looks like Sony’s former mascot still has it!
A remaster of the first three Crash Bandicoot games, this reimagined collection has released to generally positive critical reception, and fans who grew up with the classic trilogy are taking to it quite well. Perhaps the positive reception will mean further adventures for the orange marsupial? Time will tell, but in the meantime, it seems everyone is just content with re-experencing these oldies but goodies.
