First-person fatalities galore!
Indie developer Free Lives (the folks behind Broforce and Genital Jousting), and publisher Devolver Digital have joined forces to announced that Gorn will be releasing on Steam Early Access next month.
Gorn is a first-person gladiator simulation experience, that promises to crank the violence up to 11. The game is set to include a unique, physics-driven combat engine, which will allow players to carry out their most brutal gladiatorial fantasies in VR. Have you ever wanted to decimate an army of poorly animated opponents by using a multitude of weapons including swords, maces, warhammers, nunchucks, and more? Gorn is probably right up your alley. And thanks to the game being on VR, it will be like you’re actually there! …Probably, anyway.
“The Devolver Digital VR Division spent over half a million dollars to research what consumers wanted in a next generation virtual reality experience and the results were unanimous — they want to rip off someone’s arm and then beat that someone to death with said arm” said fictional Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker. (The credibility of that statement may be questionable due to the fact that Fork Parker doesn’t actually exist but hey, what’s a free-for-all without a few arms getting ripped off?)
Gorn is slated to release on Steam Early Access on July 10. Are you looking forward to getting down and dirty in the arena? Let us know in the comments below!
