Will this school of cuties make it to America?
The popular Little Witch Academia anime was recently announced to receive a PlayStation 4 adaption, and word has just come out for its Japanese release date: November 30th this year. This news arrives from the game’s commercial, which shows off new footage and the limited edition in all its glory. Feast your eyes on the goodies below.
Available for 11,000 yen (approximately $98 USD), this limited edition set includes not just the game but a Studio Trigger-designed box, a Blu-ray disc, a drama CD and a game original “Chariot Card.” In case you don’t want to shell out that much money, the regular release comes to 7,600 yen (approximately $68 USD), but pre-orders for both editions come with a download code to receive the Magic Suit Grand Charion from episode 18.
So will this game adaption ever reach Western shores? We’re not quite sure, but don’t forget Little Witch Academia is no stranger to American anime fans: not only is the series coming to Netflix, but that much of the original series’ Kickstarter success is largely owed to a non-Japanese audience. When considering all that, we don’t think it’s too unlikely for Little Witch Academia to leave Japan. And if not, hey, don’t forget PlayStation 4 is region-free!
