Developer Miga has announced that their upcoming survival/sim game HEVN will officially be releasing on Steam and Itch.io on July 19. A playable demo has been released today as well.

The demo will contain approximately the first two hours of gameplay, in which players will see Sebastian Mar head toward the small planetoid Naic in search of a better life. New won’t necessarily mean better for Sebastian, however. Naic is host to frequent seismic activity and deadly storms, and the abandoned mining facility at which he arrives leaves more questions than answers. It will be up to players to survive as best they can, while uncovering the many secrets that Naic has buried within.

“We wanted to make a unique first-person game that throws the player into a dangerous, story-rich experience with only a few ways out.” said Miga Co-Founder Mat Mathews. “Although at times the player may be faced with combat situations, we’re weaving in a deep story, rich with conflict, mystery and adventure.”

Although Sebastian will be living within a functional mining facility, it will still be up to players to use their own wit to help him survive. Health, fatigue, and mental state will need to be paid close attention to at all times, and randomly occurring events will always keep players on their toes.

HEAVN‘s release is less than one month away, and the playable demo is officially available on both Steam and Itch.io. Will you be taking your first steps onto Naic today? Let us know in the comments below!

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
