Haseo & co. return in a remastered adventure

.hack//G.U. Last Recode

Fans of the .hack series are in for some good news today, as Bandai Namco has revealed in this week’s issue of Famitsu that .hack//GU Last Recode in development for PC and PlayStation 4 in celebration of the series’ 15th Anniversary.

Last Recode is a completely remastered version of the original .hack//G.U. trilogy — .hack//G.U. Vol.1//Rebirth.hack//G.U. Vol.2//Reminisce, and .hack//G.U. Vol.3//Redemption. All three games will be playable, and in HD.

Last Recode will also feature various improvements to help implement gameplay. While details are sparse, these improvements will supposedly make parts of the game (presumably combat) feel faster and more fluid. New content not seen in the original G.U. games is also in the works for this upcoming HD remake.

Currently, .hack//G.U. Last Recode has only been confirmed in Japan, and has yet to receive a release date. Considering that this game is coming out to celebrate 15 years of the .hack franchise however, there’s a decent chance that the game will be making its way over here sometime in the future. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think that Last Recode will eventually make its way overseas? If it does, do you plan on picking it up? Let us know in the comments below!

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
