Absolver Gets Combative New Trailer

Your fights, your way

Absolver

Developer Sloclap and publisher Devolver Digital have teamed up today in order to release a new video for upcoming game Absolver.

In Absolver, players will take take control of a Prospect as they join the Absolvers — an elite combat group that fights to maintain the stability of the world. Each Prospect chooses their own combat style and creates their very own customized Combat Deck as they participate in intense real-time combat. The latest Absolver trailer gives players an in-depth look at the following three combat styles:

  • Kahlt Method – Absorb hits without being stunned or pushed back, and regain lost health with every successful counter attack.
  • Forsaken – Balanced and powerful, Prospects can parry enemy attacks and briefly stun opponents.
  • Windfall – Greater dexterity and will, Prospects can avoid enemy attacks leaving them open to a powerful counter attack.

Also detailed is the Combat Deck. The Combat Deck is the player’s attack inventory, and contains four different stances. Each stance allows players to use different attacks, allowing for greater combat flexibility. Players are able to customize their Combat Deck freely, and can switch stances as they please during combat.

Absolver releases on August 29 on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. Will you be joining the Absolvers? Let us know in the comments below!

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
