Code Vein is a dark and bloody action-RPG set to invade consoles next year

Last week, Bandai Namco released a stylish and bloody teaser trailer for an unnamed title inviting players to “Prepare to Dine”. Well, the wait is finally over, as the publisher has officially pulled back the curtain on the project. Titled “Code Vein”, the game is a moody action-RPG that’s set to release on major consoles next year.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Code Vein puts players in control of a bloodthirsty Revenant, who, aided by an AI companion, must “uncover lost memories and an exit out of this new demented reality”. As a Revenant, the game’s ushanka-clad protagonist has a number of tricks up her sleeve. One of which are Blood Veils, tools with the ability to drain their enemies, allowing Revenants to  enhance their own powers. These stolen abilities are called Gifts, and will allow the player to transform to increase their strength, weaken enemies, and unleash punishing new attacks.

Were you sleeping under a rock last week? If so, and you happened to miss the teaser trailer, have no fear! You can check it out below:

So, what are your thoughts on Code Vein so far? Are you excited to dive into this bloody RPG when it releases next year? As always, we love to hear what you think. Be sure to sound off in the comments section below.
