Also, unannounced characters spotted!
ARMS, Nintendo’s new IP for the new Switch console, is coming this June 16 as revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct. A number of new features were announced for the game, including a hectic 2 vs. 2 mode. You can watch the game’s segment from the Direct below.
As seen above, ARMS will be host to a customization feature where each fighter can be equipped with two seperate ARMS, be it the standard boxing gloves or boomerang-esque curved weapons. Each ARM contains a special attribute such as fire or electricity when unleashing a charged punch, and they can be obtained through spending currency for use on the ARM Getter sub-game.
A new character named Min Min was also revealed in the Direct. While this ramen-equipped fighter is certainly interesting (note how she doesn’t just punch!), eagle-eyed viewers noticed that unannounced characters were hidden throughout the game’s presentation. We’ll likely see more information on these fighters as the game nears release, so stay tuned!
Finally, the game is set to release alongside special Neon Yellow Joy-Con Controllers/Straps, as well as a AA Battery Pack Accessory.
