Battlezone brings tank-based mayhem to the Rift and Vive later this month with Closed Beta.
Following a successful release alongside the PlayStation VR, Battlezone is rumbling onto the PC. With the full release on the horizon, Rebellion has announced a closed Beta for the game will begin on April 19, 2017.
During that period, a limited number of Rift and Vive users will be invited to the closed beta. The closed Beta will run for one week. If you’re interested, you can sign up now. Registrations are closing on Thursday, April 13th.
The PC version of Battlezone adds a number of refinements to the title, which originally released on October 13, 2016 on the PSVR. These updates include ultra-high resolution textures, customizable super-sampling, higher resolution shadow maps and Oculus Touch compatibility.
In case you missed it, Battlezone is a tank-based arena shooter based on Atari’s classic 1980 arcade game. More than a mere gimmick, UK-based developer Rebellion has built the game from the ground up for VR, creating a truly immersive experience. In Battlezone, players hop into the cockpit of a tank and conquer a procedurally generated campaign. Players aren’t forced to fight alone, however. The game supports drop-in, drop-out cooperative play so that you and a battalion of friends can fight the good fight together.
