Atlus’ Persona 5 is off to a fantastic start
Persona 5 publishers, Atlus recently announced that following the games’ North American and European release on April 4th, their latest title is enjoying some outstanding early success. In just a week, the 5th instalment of the Persona series has seen 1.5 million copies distrubuted worldwide between its various editions. This has come somewhat as a surprise to many as its predeccesor managed just over 1 million copies, making it the previously most sucessful entry into the series.
Publishers Atlus has stuck by the franchise for over two decades, aiding it in becoming a successful series with a serious cult following. The original entry came way back in 1996 and was avaiable on PlayStation, years later in 1999, it was released for PC.
If you’re looking to get your hands on a copy of the game, it is available for a variety of prices. The Premium Edition entitled “Take Your Heart” will set you back $89.99 but includes “Sounds of Rebellion” soundtrack CD with corresponding artwork, a Morgana plush, “The Aesthetics” 64-page hardcover art book, Shujin Academy school bag and a collectible outer box. Just to top it all off, the game comes in a specially designed SteelBook collectible case with Persona 5 themed designs. There is also a standard SteelBook edition that was available with pre-orders and launch versions of Persona 5, however you can purchase the game as a digital download for PS3 and PS4 from $49.99 and $59.99 respectively.
