WELCOME TO WARCRAFT: The History Of Pandaria

“Welcome to Asian stereotype land!”

World of Warcraft is the most popular MMORPG of all time. Its world has captured the hearts and minds of more than 10 million subscribers, and remains the ruler by which all other fantasy MMOs are measured. Said world is also, unfortunately, a bit crap.

To better understand this bizarre universe, I Coleman (Hey Poor Podcast host, Hey Poor Adventurers DM) has called in an expert: lifelong WoW fan Bailey Wendel. Together they will work to understand the bizarre, messy, often-stolen, inexplicable lore of the world’s biggest multiplayer game, even if it costs I his sanity. Join them as they discuss everything from Blizzard’s hatred of the Tauren, how Azeroth may or may not be an egg (cause that’s a real thing now), and Chris Metzen’s weird fascination with Thrall.

On this week’s episode, we discuss the history of the continent of Pandaria, more affectionately known as “Pandaland.” What starts as a fairly simple story about a slave revolt quickly devolves into utterly incomprehensible nonsense involving dragons, terraces, an empty cardboard box, demons, and sort-of suicide. It’s all a bit of a confusing mess, but luckily, we explained it so that you don’t have to:
