Well, you are still below the Mason-Dixon.
The Spanish indie developer, Crema, is nearing its April 25 release of Immortal Redneck, a rogue-lite FPS based in Egypt. The protagonist of this Egyptian shooter is a redneck who wanted nothing more than a nice, relaxing vacation in Egypt and to take some pyramid selfies. Crema previously focused on mobile gaming with hits including Oh My Goat and Ridiculous Triathlon receiving international praise.
Your hero wakes up to find himself mummified in a sarcophagus and transported to ancient Egypt. You must battle your way through three pyramids searching for answers as to how you survived mummification and were teleported through time. Hopefully by the end of these trials you will find yourself back in modern time and on your way home.
Aside from a guarantee of two boss fights per pyramid, the maps are procedurally generated on each play through and can be tackled with any of the nine classes offered each with their own traits and characteristics to suit any type of playthrough. Along the way you’ll stumble across over 100 different types of scrolls that can do everything from change all the enemies to harmless chickens to drastically slowing the pace at which you move.
Buy new equipment and progress through a skill tree to upgrade your character for the increasingly difficult challenges that lie ahead in this frantic shooter. Use one of over 50 unique weapons to vanquish the monsters that inhabit these massive structures and avoid death at all costs. The upgrades you earn for your character are, much like death in Immortal Redneck, permanent.
In addition to the main game mode, Immortal Redneck features a skill room designed for you to hone your platforming skills. Twitch Quest is designed specifically for streamers with direct integration.
You can pick up your copy for PC, Mac, or Linux on Steam Starting April 25. Console players will have to wait for a yet-to-be-specified release date later in the year.
