The Playstation 4 version of the acclaimed Action-RPG battler Nier: Automata was released on February 23rd. PC owners have had to drum their fingers impatiently since then in anticipation. Now the wait is finally over, as Nier: Automota releases on Steam. You can pick up this automated battler here.

Developed in collaboration with PlatinumGames Inc., NieR: Automata has players battling robots in a desolate post-apocalyptic world. Humans have taken refuge on the Moon. Earth is occupied by rogue robots. Huamnity sends in its last hope: the android YoRHa squad.  Players will take the roles of androids 2B, 9S and A2 they must fight to reclaim the world for their human creators and uncover truths long forgotten.

As an added bonus, those who purchase the Steam Day One Edition will receive an exclusive “Valve Character Accessory,” as well as other in-game Day One Edition bonus content, including the Machine Mask Accessory, Grimoire Weiss Pod, Retro Grey Pod Skin, Retro Red Pod Skin, and Cardboard Pod Skin. Naturally, title also includes Steam achievements and trading cards (for those who love virtual cardboard). It’s rated M for suggestive, thigh-flashing robots and hack n’ slashery.

You can see an action-packed trailer below, showing a high-heeled android fighting much bigger robots across the ruined Earth.

Jonathan is HeyPoorPlayer's token British person, so expect him to thoroughly exploit this by quoting Monty Python and saying things like "Pip, pip, toodly-whotsit!" for the delight of American readers. He likes artsy-fartsy games, RPGs and RPG-Hybrids (which means pretty much everything at this point). He used to write for Sumonix.com. He's also just realised how much fun it is to refer to himself in the third person like he's The Rock or something.
