Only one week after PS4 release
Are you excited for NieR: Automata? You should be. The Platinum-developed sequel to cult classic NieR has been a long time coming, and will be dropping later this month for PS4. As for PC owners, you don’t have to worry about a massive delay or anything since it’s now been confirmed that the PC version will launch globally on March 17th – only a week after the PS4 release.
Not only that, but if you pre-purchase the Steam Day One edition, you’ll get access to all the DLC available in the console’s Day One edition (which are the Machine Mask Accessory, Grimoire Weiss Pod, Retro Grey Pod Skin, Retro Red Pod Skin, and Cardboard Pod Skin). It’ll also include an exclusive Valve Character Accessory for main character 2B to wear (and now I want a Half-Life/NieR crossover. Anyone else? No? OK, then).
Though a PC version of the game was confirmed last August, both PlatinumGames and publisher Square Enix issued concerns over potential piracy and that it could help delay the game. Considering PC gamers only have to wait an extra week, it’s certainly one of the more palatable delays we’ve seen.
NieR: Automata will be available on PS4 March 10th and puts players in control of 2B, an android who must fight an invading alien force on a post-apocalyptic Earth.
