GWENT’s Nilfgaard faction update will introduce new styles of play
CD PROJEKT RED has announced that their upcoming update for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game will be bringing with it a whole new faction for players to utilize – Nilfgaard.
The Nilfgaard faction will introduce a new playstyle previously not featured within GWENT. Rather than using brute force, the Nilfgaard faction focuses on maintaining total control over the battlefield. Players using these cards will be able to use special abilities to see their opponent’s hand, and control even player deck order. This faction also uses underhanded tricks based on the use of disloyal units.
The Nilfgaard faction update will bring with it over 60 new cards for players to use. Some of the new additions will include faction-specific cards for Northern Realms, Scoia’tael, Skellige, and Monsters. Neutral cards, which can be used by any faction, will also be included.
The update for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game will go live on February 9. The game is currently in Closed Beta, but is still accepting applications. Those wishing to join in on the fun can register on the game’s official website.
