We all knew it was coming…
Square Enix has announced its plans for upcoming DLC for Final Fantasy XV and as expected, we have an update for Chapter 13 to help explain the somewhat patchy and confusing story as well as a series of single-player episodes based around Prompto, Ignis and Gladio.
This announcement hardly comes as a shock as it was practically common knowledge to fans of the game, however the game’s director, Hajime Tabata has gone into more detail about what to expect:
“The fans who have grown accustomed to playing traditional Final Fantasy games may feel uneasy about this unfamiliar initiative. That said, I personally believe the approach to updating single-player games, as we are doing with this title, will continue on in the future as a new trend.”
The update coming for Chapter 13 will be free to players – as it should be – while further DLC, including the chapters about “the bros”, will be included in the cost of the season pass, if you’ve purchased it.
Some of the updates Square Enix has discussed recently will become available today while others (including the DLC) are yet to have a confirmed release date.
Despite somewhat of a mixed reception following its release, Final Fantasy XV finished 2016 with a shiny silver medal, as it became the 2nd most sold game in the calendar year in the U.S, despite its November release date. Kudos to that Square Enix.
