Square Enix Europe’s Twitter Account Hacked

Man, they really showed Square Enix *sarcasm*.

It’s that time of year again, when someone tries to take down a major video game company by hacking into their social media accounts.

…Well actually, it looks like someone decided to troll Square Enix and got into the official Square Enix Europe account to mess with the company a little bit. While this happened about five hours ago, not much has been posted about besides a few racial comments and the so-called “Hacker” posting about anime. I went ahead and took a screenshot of some of the less-awful tweets for prosperity above, though those that want to bare it all can check it out here.

Square Enix itself has not said anything about this breach on any of their other Twitter accounts, though its doubtful that they do not know about these postings. If you act fast, you may still see a post or three before Square Enix *ahem* Squares up and deletes these rambling messages.

While these small hacks mean little to giant companies, it can make some customers skittish about the prospects of what exactly the company is all about. What do you all think about these people breaking into the accounts? Let us know in the comments below!

Anthony Spivey loves his handhelds. Ever since getting a Game Boy and Pokemon Blue when they came out, he has rarely set down a handheld, usually to only pick up a console controller. He is frequently on the Hey Poor Podcast, which everyone should listen to. His favorite games include Persona 3 Portable, Pokemon Silver, Sonic Advance 2, and Final Fantasy VI Advance.
