Looks like the upcoming Mass Effect game won’t be making the switch
While EA has indeed expressed interest in bringing one of their upcoming “big games” to the Nintendo Switch, it sounds like Mass Effect: Andromeda won’t be that game.
In an interview with Stevivor, Mass: Effect Andromeda producer Michael Gamble talked about the console difference for the upcoming game. When asked if Andromeda would be releasing on the switch, he said that nothing was planned for now.
“Yeah, not right now, no” said Gamble. “We’re not planning on it. If the Switch launches and everyone’s just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that.”
Gamble didn’t have much to say about Andromeda‘s in regards to the PlayStation 4 Pro, either.
“In the world of PS Pro”, said Gamble, “we do similar things where we say, ‘Okay, what are the strengths of the console, and how can we optimize to make that experience best for players?’ In terms of PS Pro, we’ll probably talk more technical about that in January or February.”
Gamble was even less willing to talk about any potential upcoming plans for Microsoft’s Project Scorpio.
“For Scorpio, we have absolutely no plans right now”, said Gamble. You never know what’ll happen after that.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is slated to release sometime in Spring 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
