Celebrate the New Year with Pichu and Co.!
Pokémon Go‘s holiday offerings goes on into 2017 with special offerings courtesy of Niantic, as announced on the game’s official site. Starting today through January 3rd, the game’s developer will offer Bronze, Silver and Gold boxes, which contain Incenses, Lure Modules, Lucky Eggs, and of course, Poké Balls and Great Balls. The previous boxes (Special, Great and Ultra) have been discontinued as of yesterday, so Trainers will definitely want to nab these before they’re gone.
Furthermore, from now until January 8th, the first trio of Starter Pokémon–that is, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle–will have a higher spawn rate, alongside all their respective evolutions. Also, Lure Modules will now last for a full hour as opposed to just thirty minutes.
As a reminder, while the aforementioned boxes are no longer available, the previous holiday rewards that began this Christmas are still in effect until January 3rd. This means you can still receive eggs of new Pokémon, such as Pichu and Togepi, from Pokéstops, as well as festival hat-adorned Pikachus during this period. If you haven’t yet jumped on these, what are you waiting for?
