Destroy an enemy weapons facility in NieR: Automata’s playable demo, now on PSN.
If you’ve been itching for a fight then you’re in luck. Starting today, players can experience an early taste of NieR: Automata.
The game’s publisher Square Enix today released a free playable demo of the upcoming action-RPG on the PlayStation Store, allowing players to experience an early taste of its grim, dystopian setting and tense action. The demo for NieR Automata puts players in control of Android 2B as she works to destroy a secret weapons factory that’s harboring a massively destructive weapon. This sample of the game gives players a chance to experience developer Platinum Games’ polished combat system and bask in its impressive visuals.
For those who haven’t been following the game’s development since it was announced, here’s the skinny. NieR Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim a machine-driven world overrun by weapons known as machine lifeforms. The game is currently set to release on the PlayStation 4 on March 7, 2017. A Steam release is planned for early next year, but as of the time of this writing a release date has yet to be determined.
If this early slice of the action is any indication of what we’ll be seeing in the finished product, NieR: Automata could very well be one of 2017’s most explosive action titles. So, will you be downloading the demo today? If you do, be sure to sound off in the comments section of this article and let us know what you thought of it.
