Final Fantasy XV gets new update introducing New Game+ mode & bug fixes, lays groundwork for upcoming paid DLC.
Square Enix has released a new update for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy XV’s Update 1.03 clocks in at 3.2GB and features the usual bug fixes you’d expect, in addition to a new photo frame feature that allows players to choose from a variety of themed frames that can be added to the pictures Prompto snaps throughout the adventure. However, the most exciting update to the game comes in the form of the New Game+ mode, which allows players to begin their journey anew while retaining all of their items, levels, costumes, and Ascensions Skills. However, Nova Crystalis notes that if you upgraded Noctics’ Engine Blade to the Ultima Blade it will revert back to its original form. The same goes for the Regalia Type-F, which will return to its humble road-bound state.
It’s worth noting, starting up a New Game+ file will overwrite your original progress. Also, Final Fantasy XV’s New Game+ doesn’t bring with it any updated difficulty modes, which seems like a missed opportunity. Still, if you’re looking to run roughshod over Eos with a maxed-out squad, here’s your chance.
So, are you still playing Final Fantasy XV? If so, do you think you’ll be taking advantage of the New Game+ mode after you wrap up the main story? Be sure to sound off in the comments section and let us know. And in case you missed it, be sure to check out our full review of the game here.
