Beat back the Skaven scourge with Vermintide VR today.
Things are about to get real in indie developer Fatshark’s cooperative FPS Warhammer End Times: Vermintide. The developer announced today the availability of four Virtual Reality levels, allowing players to experience the game like never before. The new VR levels support two-player cooperative play. You’ll be able to take up arms with four weapon types to combat three different varieties of enemies to battle.
The added sense of scale that comes with VR gaming has always been one of the medium’s most impreissive features. It seems Vermintide VR is no exception, with Martin Wahlund, CEO of Fatshark saying “Facing enemies that are as tall – or even taller – than yourself, is a new level of scary.” We believe it, Mr. Wahlund. We believe it.
Vermintide VR is available for free for those who’ve already purchased the core game. Those who’ve yet to add the title to their collection can download the free version which includes two of Vermintide VR’s playable arenas here on the game’s Steam page.
Warhammer End Times: Vermintide is developed and published by Stockholm, Sweden-based studio Fatshark. The multiplayer-only title is similar to Left 4 Dead, allowing players to team up to tackle the rat-like Skaven who’ve overrun the city of Ubersreik. Vermintide was developed in collaboration with Games Workshop to ensure that it stayed as true to its Warhammer 40k source material as possible.
While Vermintide VR is currently only available for PC, here’s hoping Fatshark decides to bring this mode to the PS4 version of the game via PSVR at some point down the road.
