Joy(pads) to the world
It’s that time of year again.
Around the festive season, people love to compile lists of their favorite Christmas movies, music, and TV shows. While video games don’t have the same tradition, there nonetheless exists a growing pool of Christmas-themed games. Here’s a list of such titles that stand out from the crowd because of their positive reception, their bizarre interpretation of the holiday, or some combination of both. But before we start, let’s just get one thing out of the way:
Honorable Mention: Killing Floor – Twisted Christmas events
These exist as a series of updates and promotional events to the original Killing Floor. Twisted Christmas ran for a few years in a row and offered a superbly off-the-wall experience, turning the horrific “zeds” into Christmas-themed abominations and gifted players with a couple of maps in same vein. It also had specific achievements and the obligatory festive soundtrack, making it a bloody fun way to spend the holiday with some mates.
And now, onto the list proper!
