Don’t shoot!
Super Russian Roulette backers got a wealth of information in a new State of the Saloon email sent out by the game’s creator, Andrew Reitano. The Kickstarted NES game now has a potential release date of February 2017 and will have a ton of additional content. In the update, Reitano informed backers that they will not need to use the NES Zapper if they are planning to play on a modern television. The NES D-pad can be used to select any target on the screen so gamers without a CRT will not be missing out.
In a surprising announcement, Reitano also claims to have found a way to expand the ROM on the game’s board from 1MB to a whopping 8MB! This is 16 times more memory than Kirby’s Adventure, which is the largest commercial NES game to ever grace the console. The extra memory will allow Super Russian Roulette to feature 34 minutes of speech.
But that’s not all, cowboys! Also mentioned in the update is that backers will get their keys to download the game’s soundtrack as early as today, December 6. Reitano dropped one last bit of info at the end of the email and revealed Super Russian Roulette‘s awesome box art (featured below).
I simply can’t wait to get this in my mailbox this coming February! Did you help kickstart Super Russian Roulette? Sound off in the comments below!
