Awesomenauts Gets A Complete Overhaul

Awesomenauts revamps menus and matchmaking system

AwesomenautsRonimo Games, developer of 2D-moba Awesomenauts, has released patch 3.3: Rise of Galactron on Steam.

This patch completely revamps the menus as well as the matchmaking system. Now when a player queues for a match they should be placed with people closer to their skill rank and experience less latency in game.

Rise of Galactron also implements a persistent-party system to ease the task of playing with friends as well as a rejoin feature for those who have been disconnected. Ronimo capped off the patch with harsher penalties for players who abandon a match before it has concluded.

Overall this patch adds a nice touch of polish to the already praised product. Ronimo Games has stated that this will lay the groundwork for future features including a spectator mode in December and a map builder that will be released with full steam workshop integration.

This all looks to be an attempt to push Awesomenauts forward in the competitive gaming scene. with the new features, this could be the next moba we see getting attention in the pro circuits.
