Steins;Gate 0 will combine familiar faces with an all-new story
Publisher PQube has officially announced today that the sequel to MAGES.Inc.’s critically acclaimed visual novel Steins;Gate, Steins;Gate 0, will be headed Westward on November 29.
Steins;Gate 0 features an alternate timeline in which scientist Rinataro Okabe realizes that he cannot save the love of his life. Okabe soon sinks into a deep depression, abandoning his friends, his research, and the entirety of time travel itself – completely unaware of what impact that these decisions will have on all of humanity. Faced with uncertainty, it will be up to the returning Steins;Gate cast – Mayuri, Farris, Daru, Moeka, Luka, and Suzuha – to do their best to bring their friend back from the brink of despair, and save humankind while they’re at it.
Players can expect Steins;Gate 0 combine familiar themes and concepts from the original Steins;Gate with new characters and scientific themes, such as artificial intelligence, into a unique story with darker overtones than the first.
Steins;Gate 0 will be available on PlayStation 4 and Vita on November 29, 2016 in North America. Those in Europe can expect to get the game a little bit earlier, on November 25. Can’t get enough Steins;Gate? Check out the trailer for the upcoming sequel below.
