Take to the skies in Eagle Flight
Ubisoft has announced today that Eagle Flight, the developer’s first-ever Virtual Reality game, is now officially available on Oculus Rift.
Developed by FunHouse, a division of Ubisoft Montreal, Eagle Flight takes place in a version of Earth ruled by nature. Humans disappeared from the Earth 50 years ago, and wildlife and nature have once again begun to take over. Players will explore Paris through a unique viewpoint – as an eagle. As players soar through the skies of one of the world’s most-visited cities, they will be able to encounter landmarks, gracefully weave through narrow streets, and even uncover secret passages.
Single-player mode offers a chance to refine one’s flying skills by allowing players to learn new tricks and complete various challenges. Multiplayer is also available, and features modes such as capture-the-prey dogfights that can be enjoyed by up to two teams of three per game.
“At Ubisoft we care deeply about innovation and new technology, so we’re excited to release Eagle Flight, our first Virtual Reality game,” said VP of FunHouse Patrick Plourde. “Eagle Flight is a fantastic game for newcomers to VR and experienced players alike. The game is very intuitive, so novice players can simply boot up the game and fly at their own pace with ease. For more seasoned players looking for a more intense experience, they can jump into the single player challenges or into a multiplayer match where they will have to expertly navigate the streets, skies and underground of Paris as they try to capture the prey and defeat their opponents.”
Eagle Flight is available now for $39.99 on Oculus Rift. Eagle Flight will be available on PSVR starting November 8, and HTC Vive starting December 20.
