Starting today, PC players can test their mettle in The Deadly Tower of Monsters’ Survival Mode
ATLUS today announced that the PC version of The Deadly Tower of Monsters, their quirky ode to classic sci-fi adventure that released earlier this year, has just received a new Survival Mode. This new mode begins on a staging platform where players can choose characters, switch weapons, or purchase new weapons, abilities, or health. From there, they’ll freefall down to another platform where they must fight their way through successive waves of enemies and survive various environmental hazards. After each wave, players will return to the staging area where they can refuel with gold gathered from enemy drops and flying through hoops during freefalls. Just as you’d expect, each wave will get progressively more challenging, so you’ll have to make smart use of the resources you collect to survive.
For those who have yet to add this charming sci-fi romp to their collections yet, The Deadly Tower of Monsters is part of Steam’s ongoing mid-week sale. You can purchase the game now for -66% off the game’s $14.99 price tag.
Jay scored The Deadly Tower of Monsters a 3.5 in his review back in January saying, “The Deadly Tower of Monsters is worth scaling for presentation alone, and the mechanics that work only help matters. Anyone with a love of low-budget sci-fi flicks of any era, from 1950s classics like Target Earth and Bride of the Monster to the 1970s flair such as Planet of Dinosaurs and The Island of Doctor Moreau, will find something to love in ACE Team’s faux-opus (fauxpus?).”
