Exploration, combat, simulation, and more await you in this magic-infused upcoming roguelike
Developer Spellbind Studious has announced that their upcoming game Rogue Wizards will be appearing on Steam early next week.
Rogue Wizards follows the adventure of a hapless hero as they venture through dangerous dungeons filled with monsters, traps, and, of course, plenty of loot. Although indeed a procedurally-generated roguelike, Rogue Wizards features tactical turn-based combat similar to that found within SRPGs, as opposed to real-time combat normally found within games of the same genre.
Combat and exploration aside, Rogue Wizards also adds into the mix an element of simulation. During exploration within the games dungeons, players will come across merchants in need of rescuing. Once rescued, merchants will set up shop in town, allowing the town to not only grow but offer better items within shops as well; the more merchants rescued, the bigger the town and the better the shops. Selling items at shops will also do more than just earn players money. By selling excess loot shops will be able to expand and upgrade, allowing the shopkeepers to offer a larger selection (some of which you might even get for free)!
Rogue Wizards will be blasting its way onto Steam on September 27th. Will you have what it takes to survive?
