Syndrome’s gameplay trailer highlights survival horror game’s tense and claustrophobic setting
Developer Camel 101 and BIGMOON Entertainment today announced that Syndrome, their upcoming old school survival horror title set in the bowels of an eerie spaceship hurtling through the cosmos, releases October 6, 2016 on PC (Windows, Mac, Linux) and early 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and VR platforms.
Syndrome puts players in control of a member of the ship’s crew, who awakens from cryosleep to find it’s not at all the way you remember. Your friends and coworkers are gone. In their place, players discover horrifying monsters that would like nothing more than to turn you into space dog food.
To celebrate the game’s upcoming release, Camel 101 has released a trailer showcasing 13 minutes of eerie gameplay footage which can be found below:
The trailer does a good job of showcasing Syndrome’s tense, claustrophobic environment. During the brief gameplay presentation, we also get a look at several weapons the player will use to combat their bloodthirsty foes, including a wrench and a rather sturdy looking pistol. The foes who stalk the player also make an appearance, and at first glance look like some kind of fusion of Quake’s Strogg and the Necromorphs featured prominently in Dead Space. In any case, we’re excited to see what further horrors await when Syndrome releases next month.
