At the time of writing, this one of the newest wrestling games available. Exhibiting some of the best graphics ever seen in the genre thanks to the wrestlers’ faces being scanned into the game, WWE2K6 tries to be more of simulator than an all-out action romp.
Competitors have more realistic reactions, becoming tired over time. By the end of a match you and a friend will be crawling about the ring like a couple of babies seeking your mothers’ milk.
Aside from playing exhibition bouts in cages, on ladders, and through tables, this title offers so much more. Players can partake in Showcase, a mode that sees you reliving Stone Cold Steve Austin’s classic matches, career mode, wherein you create your own grappler and have him live the wacky life of a WWE superstar, and Universe mode, a section that allows you to customize everything from which day Raw is aired to whether Raw is even aired. Despite being geared towards the WWE viewer, it’s a fun experience.
