Just in Time for SummerSlam
Ah, pro wrestling. Passing viewers see the sterotypes: skin-tight trunks, rippling muscles, outlandish characters, goofy storylines, and an audience with a lower than average IQ. But to fans this semi-pseudo sport is art between ropes, majestic brilliance—akin to ballet—almost as though comic book super heroes have manifested before our eyes. You had better not be having a wedding or a baby during WrestleMania season, if so the wrestling fan in your life will pick WrestleMania over that special moment every time, that’s how hardcore they are. Whichever side of the fence you find yourself on, there is no denying two things: Wrestling video games have a rich history and are a hell of a lot of fun.
With this in mind, I snap on my Lucha Libre mask, pull up my pink swim trunks, grab a microphone, and jump head first into this genre, wrestling the passage of time, picking up the best games as I go.
