#6- Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Like LittleBigPlanet Vita, Uncharted: Golden Abyss delivered on the console gaming on the go promise. Developed by Sony Bend, this handheld iteration of the popular franchise went above and beyond expectations for the game. Some would say, myself included, that Golden Abyss is even better than Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Why? Because Golden Abyss delivers everything that an Uncharted game should. The graphics are incredible for a handheld system, and are perhaps only passed by Killzone: Mercenary (shoutout to that game- sorry, but it didn’t make this list!). The shooting is competent, perhaps the most competent third-person shooting on a handheld ever. The story is a classic Uncharted-esque tale, full of friendship, betrayal, action, and adventure. This is actually the title that convinced me to pick up the Vita, and so I am forever grateful for that. There are few negatives however, such as it’s short length and lack of multiplayer. While I would have loved to see what Bend could have done with a Golden Abyss sequel, this game will forever stand as the the best example of console gaming on the go.
Thus ends Part 4 of this Vita List! What have I missed? What are your favorite Vita games? Are you pissed that I won’t include Killzone: Mercenary? Let me know in the comments section! To go on to the next section, click here.
