5 Retro-Style Platform Games You Probably Haven’t Played (But Should)

Muri 1

Not too many games model themselves on early 90’s DOS titles, which makes Muri all the more endearing.

It’s heavily based on the original Duke Nukem, so much so that you’ll find it hard to believe it wasn’t developed by Apogee themselves. It completely nails the Duke Nukem formula: the level design, the shooting mechanics, the enemy behavior, the pointless items to collect… they’re all there and are just like you remember them. Even the HUD looks like the one in Duke. I cannot stress how much fun this is, and if you ever played a shareware Apogee title as a kid, then you need to get this one post-haste. Absolutely the best!
