5 Retro-Style Platform Games You Probably Haven’t Played (But Should)

Jet Gunner

Jet Gunner

Jet Gunner is best described as a mix between Contra and Mega Man, with a hero who has a jet pack with limited flying ability.

It comes pretty close to looking like an authentic NES game: from the limited palette to the boxed resolution, you’d almost swear it’s running on an emulator. Though the illusion is quickly broken by the fast fluidity and insane number of enemies and projectiles on-screen, it remains an absolute blast to play. There’s tons of crazy weapons to collect and even drones which assist the player. You may also replay levels under certain restrictions, such as one-hit deaths or a disabled jet pack.

Hop on over to its Steam page to purchase it or try out the demo.
