Top five games that should be movies

A movie adaptation of a video game is not a new thing. This process dates all the way back to the poor excuse for a Super Mario Bros. film. Images of Dennis Hopper as King Koopa had to be surgically removed from my brain and dulled with one of the game’s famous magic mushrooms. Not all iterations have been as bad as that though, (Mortal Kombat, cough, cough) yet they have not been very good either.

It can be a hard process; do you cast actors as the well-known virtual characters? Or do you just use a game’s setting and develop a new story within its world? Here at Hey Poor Player we believe we can do a lot better than those fat cats in Hollywood, so here is our list of the top 5 video games that would make great movies.

Dean Moses was born in England in February of 1991. At the age of nineteen he moved to New York City, where he hoped to fulfill two of his longtime dreams: marry the love of his life and become an author. For the past five years he has written for newspapers, including the New York Amsterdam News and the Spring Creek Sun, as well as transcribed for the New York Times’ Lens Blog. He is the author of A Stalled Ox from 1888's Black Hill Press. Dean currently resides in Queens, New York with his wife and two cats.
