First Issue Available Today
It hasn’t been that long since the release of the surreal Hotline Miami 2, but fans of the crazy top-down shooter series may be desperate for some more of it. While there’s no word of a new game in the works, the next best thing has been announced – a comic book series courtesy of Italy-based Dayjob Studios, who have previously written comics on the series before.
Titled Hotline Miami: Wildlife, the series will consist of eight issues and focus on a new character called Chris and his own personal struggles dealing with an upcoming war, his own tendencies towards self-destruction and the mysterious organisation called 50 Blessings, the original games’ antagonists. This narrative will take readers to new locales within the Hotline Miami universe, introduce them to new, masked characters and explore all the dark and disturbing themes that the games are well known for.
Each issue will be at least 30 pages long and be written by Federico Chemello and Maurizio Furini, with art by Alberto Massaggia, Ludovica Ceregatti, Andrea Dotta and Andrea Errico. Though the story isn’t considered canon to the universe, Dayjob Studios have already been given blessings by the games’ developer and publisher, Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital, due to their work on the tie-in comic series to Hotline Miami 2.
The first issue is available right now, with the remaining seven issues set to come out every month for $1.99 each. They can be downloaded in both PDF and CBR format at http://www.dayjobstudio.net/hotlinemiami/ where you can also pre-purchase the entire series and save 25% off the cover price.
