Deadlight Director’s Cut Launched
Deep Silver’s side-scrolling shadow simulator, Deadlight, has a new version out today. If you haven’t gotten enough 2-dimensional zombies the first time around, Deadlilght Director’s Cut may have what you’re looking for. Among the changes are enhanced graphics and controls as well as a new mode: Survival Arena. Also, if you’ve been running from shadows on PS4 or Xbox One, the insane Nightmare Mode (as well as its alternate ending) are now available.
Deadlight received decent reviews during its original launch in 2012. It rocks a Metacritic score of 78 with a user score of 7.3. Chief complaints on the title mainly focus on the frustrations of dealing with obscure shadows. Often, it is difficult to discern whether or not a black smudge is the platform you need to jump to or a worthless (and deadly) piece of background. Hopefully, the improvement to animation as well as the upgrade to 1080p across the board helps to fix this issue. Regardless, Deadlight Director’s Cut is out now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One for $19.99.
