Just Cause 3: Mech Land Assault Content Pack Drops Today

Mo’ Mech, Mo’ Problems

The second content pack from Just Cause 3‘s Air, Land, and Sea Expansion Pass is available now for all Expansion Pass Holders. Those lacking the pass can pick up the pack as a separate add-on on June 10th for $11.99 / EUR11.99 / £9.49.

The new gameplay trailer shows our intrepid hero, Rico Rodriguez causing gravity-defying destruction with the help of some powerful Mechs. Dropping down on the new island of Lacrima, Rico discovers an abandoned eDEN research base. There is also the small matter of a local prison camp being run by the mysterious Black Hand and guarded by hulking Mechs.

With his new Bavarium Power Core rifle, Rico will have to disable the Mechs so he can hijack them from the inside. Once he’s in, Rico can utilize the Mech’s Gravitational Remote Influence Projector or “GRIP” to attract and hurl objects at enemies. Remember how fun Half-Life 2’s gravity gun was? Yeah, now have that and a giant robot to pilot around wreaking havoc.

Other features added by the Mech Land Assault content pack include:

  • Two types of powerful Mech to pilot and drive anywhere in Medici.
  • Ability to Jump and smash helicopters from the sky or ground pound tanks with the GRIPS’s “Force Pulse” attack.
  • Mech arena challenges, where you can show your skills and earn upgrades.
  • Rebel Mech buddy that can be called in for extra firepower when the going gets tough.
  • New super energy weapon, the Bavarium Power Core rifle.

Similar to the game changing Bavarium Wingsuit from Sky Fortress, the Mechs will change the way players can interact with and, let’s face it, destroy their surroundings.

As Tobias Andersson, Senior Producer at Avalanche Studios puts it:

“Whether you’re juggling a small car or punching helicopters out of the sky, the Mechs give you the opportunity to mess with your surroundings in creative, explosive ways.”

Players still looking to grab the full Air, Land, & Sea Expansion Pass can do so for $24.99 /EUR24.99 / £19.99. The final content pack Just Cause 3: Bavarium Sea Heist, is expected to be released by the end of summer 2016, one week early for Expansion Pass Holders.
