4: Really Big Sky

This one takes inspiration from Asteroids and its related spin-offs. It’s the most simplistic title on this list, dismissing many gimmicks in favor of a more distilled shooting experience. Nonetheless, there are a lot of modes and a ton of unlockable goodies to keep you coming back for more. It’s fun to play and visually-striking with its ultra-minimalistic, colorful neon graphics.

3: Sine Mora

The most story-centric game on this list, Sine Mora features time-manipulation mechanics similar to Zeit² but far more complex with an added emphasis on tactical gameplay. Where Sina Mora really shines is in abundance of choices, from the range of weapons to the available time gimmicks. It’s the sort of game you can play for ages and still have ton of material to unlock. It’s extremely polished and at times it feels more like you’re playing a proper anime.
