The Worms Are Back For Next Generation Consoles

Worms W.M.D

U&I Entertainment, Sold Out, and award winning West Yorkshire game developer Team 17 have just announced that the 2D classic Worms W.M.D will be launching in Minneapolis and London later this year for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Worms W.M.D introduces a unique look to the 2D cartoon-inspired series with breathtaking hand-drawn backgrounds. New to the traditional gameplay are vehicles, and the worms now being able to enter buildings, both features adding even more chaos and strategy to the gameplay than what players are used to. You can swoop down with your helicopter and shower your opponents with bullets aplenty, or you may decide to drive your tank around the map and surprise the enemy with well timed shots.

Worms W.M.D offers an intense single player campaign, along with training and challenge modes to test your skills and be the best mother-wormer out there. If playing solo doesn’t sound very intriguing to you, you can instead take the fight online and compete in friendly multiplayer matches up to six players, each with teams of eight worms maximum on one whole map. All of this comes equipped with that lovely feel of the classic Worms experience.

Debbie Bestwick, CEO of Team 17, said “After recently celebrating Team 17’s 25th anniversary, 2016 marks 21 years for the Worms franchise. Besides making lots of us feel old, we listened to our loyal fans to create what we believe is the definitive Worms experience in W.M.D. Fans will now be able to pick the game up in boxed form from retailers around the globe.”

Martin Hawk, CEO of U&I Entertainment, said “U&I Entertainment is eager to introduce Worms W.M.D to loyal fans of the Worms series as well as to a new generation of gamers in North America. Developer Team 17 continues to expand the Worms universe and is set to deliver a fresh new take on a familiar series.
