3. Journey to Silius
A terrorist organization has bombed space colony #428 in the Silius Solar System and by doing so; they’ve killed the entire research team and destroyed their data. The main scientist who developed this colony has perished in the explosion and his son, Jay McCray, has found a floppy disc containing the colony’s plans and a message from his father asking him to continue his work. Now Jay must protect these plans and also fight these terrorists who have killed his father.
I’m really surprised that Journey to Silius hasn’t had a sequel or at least a reboot. The story conveyed here is simply amazing; especially for a NES title. Just thinking how much more story could be built around the game using today’s technology gets my mind racing. I think a game of this caliber would benefit most from use of the Uncharted game engine. Of course the setting would be changed dramatically from Naughty Dog’s flagship series’ tombs and mountain locales, but I could picture futuristic factories and space colonies fitting nicely in their place. Considering Journey to Silius was originally based of 1984’s Terminator, it would also be thrilling to get a movie out of the title.
